Sing joyfully to Adonai,

you who are righteous.

It is appropriate for the upright

to praise God.

Use a ten-stringed harp

to praise God with a new song!

Play with skill and joyful shouts.

Adonai’s word is correct

and everything Adonai does

is trustworthy.

Adonai loves justice and righteousness,

Adonai’s love fills the Earth.

The heavens were made by Adonai’s word,

and the breath of Adonai’s mouth

formed the starry host.

Adonai gathers the seawater into a heap

and places the deep waters in storehouses.

Let the Earth tremble before Adonai,

let all the people stand in awe of Adonai.

Adonai spoke,

and it was created.

Adonai commanded,

and it became solid.

Adonai thwarts the plans of the nations,

Adonai turns aside

the intentions of the people.

Yet Adonai’s plan always stands firm,

the plans of Adonai’s heart

remain from generation to generation.

The nation, whose God is Adonai is blessed

– those whom God has chosen

as an inheritance.

Adonai gazes at humanity from heaven,

watching all who live

from Adonai’s dwelling.

God shapes their hearts

and discerns everything they do.

A great army won’t save a king,

and great strength won’t save a warrior.

It is vain to hope for victory

from a horse, it cannot save

despite its strength.

But Adonai watches closely,

those who are in awe of Adonai,

those who hope for Adonai’s love

to rescue their souls from death

and sustain them during famine.

Our soul waits hopefully for Adonai

– Adonai is our shield and help.

Because we trust in Adonai‘s holy Name,

our hearts rejoice in Adonai.

Adonai, let Your lovingkindness

rest upon us,

as we have put our hope in You.

The one whose mistakes are forgiven,

whose error is pardoned,

is blessed.

The one who Adonai overlooks their guilt,

who has no deceit in their spirit,

is blessed.

When I kept silent about my transgressions

my bones became weak

because I groaned all day.

My strength dried up

like a lake in the summer heat

because Your hand was heavy on me

day and night.

Then I admitted my transgression to You

and was open about my guilt.

I said “I admit my errors to Adonai,”

and You removed the guilt of my errors.

Therefore, everyone who is righteous

should pray to You

when You are near,

then they will be far away

when great floodwaters rise.

You are my refuge

 – You protect me from trouble.

You fill me with songs of deliverance.

“I will teach you and guide you

in the Way you should go.

I will provide counsel

– my Eye watches out for you.

Don’t be like a horse or mule

which are unintelligent

and must be controlled by bridle and bit

to get them to come to you.

The wicked are full of woes,

but those who trust in the Lord

are surrounded

by Adonai‘s lovingkindness.

Righteous ones,

rejoice in Adonai,

and shout for joy,

you whose hearts are upright.
